seed of destruction
hundred injuries. eleven deaths. one explosion. zero conscience.
another explosion has occurred in a local mall, killing some, wounding many, troubling everybody.
another terrorist attack, they say.
i read later on in the news that this could be another diversion the president caused to veer the people's attention from the crimes she was deemed guilty of, to buy herself time and to plan another strategy and to somehow use the people's grief to her advantage in terms of strengthening her reviews.
and win people's hearts.
i really don't care.
i care about the victims. i care about the afflicted. some of the victims may have deserved it and with good reason. i say this because in this world, nobody's innocent. i know i'm not a saint, and at some point i did feel my unrighteous skin tingle.
but there are those who didn't deserve it. and that's what should matter.
in a gentle world, nobody innocent should ever have to suffer. evidently, things have gotten very real.
my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the tragedy. for the broken promises, wounded hearts, forlorn hopes, and exiled dreams. i wish i can say more, but my words do not sway much.
and to quote a great person who has been an inspiration to those who know him, we, as people, have an obligation to know who we are and where we are and what we can do. we have an obligation to understand the ramifications of the things we do, and to choose to do them or not with our eyes open.
and so.. our proper response to the inexorable march of progress that has brought us to this place and time in the history of civilization is to find a way to confront it responsibly, not modestly. not unselfconsciously. not with faith in a power greater than ours to descend from the sky and set things right despite our best efforts to screw up.
and thus, i dare say we need not play the blame game. there is not a need to point a finger. we need only look in the mirror, and see.
everything that happens around us is the corollary of what the people in the mirror do, whether consciously, or unconsciously.
they're right. we don't stand a chance. in a world full of bitterness and hate, what can man do?
